Alumna receives NEA medal
President Barack Obama awarded the National Medal of Arts in September to Ann Hamilton ’85MFA, a visual artist and professor of art at Ohio State University. She was one of 11 artists honored in a ceremony at the White House. Hamilton, who earned her degree at Yale in sculpture, is known for her large-scale multimedia installations and often works with video, photography, and textiles. She represented the United States at the 1999 Venice Biennale, and she has been the recipient of numerous other honors, including a Heinz award, a MacArthur fellowship, and a Guggenheim fellowship.
