Four named Knight-Hennessy Scholars

Anthony Kayruz ’17, Seth Kolker ’15, Charles Stone ’14, and Zachary Young ’17 have been selected to join nearly 70 students from around the world as 2019 Knight-Hennessy Scholars. Scholars receive full funding for graduate study at Stanford University and participate in experiential learning through the King Global Leadership Program, which provides community experiences, workshops, meetings with leaders, global study trips, and personal development opportunities.

Student employees recognized

Ten Yale College students have been selected as winners of the second annual Y-Work Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Student Employees: Katherine Brumberg (TC ’19), Joe Doran (TC ’20), Maria Gargiulo (PC ’19), Paige Hollis-Villareal (JE ’19), Lily Mirfakhraie (DC ’19), TJ Noel-Sullivan (SY ’20), Donovan Sabog (BK ’19), Sarah Siegel (TC ’19), Odette Wang (BR ’20), and Max Yuhas (TD ’20). The winners, chosen by a committee composed of representatives from Yale College administrative offices and resource centers, have worked in a range of Yale departments, scientific laboratories, and museums.

Tsai CITY supports student innovators

Ten student teams will spend eight weeks this summer at Tsai CITY (Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale)  as part of CITY’s Summer Fellowship, an intensive accelerator to incubate new companies, nonprofits, and initiatives. To help push their ideas to the next level, each team will receive $15,000 in grant funding and will take part in a rigorous sequence of workshops, sprints, mentorship, coaching, and pitch opportunities. Tsai CITY, supported by a major donation from the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation, draws university resources into closer partnership with each other; complements curricular programs; and provides a venue for students to develop innovation.
