GSAS launches new website
The Graduate School has launched a newly designed website at gsas.yale.edu, which features a modern, bold interface to help serve our community and communicate about our programs and policies. The site features portals for prospective students, incoming students, current students, faculty and staff, and alumni. The main navigation concept is meant to serve prospective and current students as they navigate the admissions process and, subsequently, their academic journey at Yale. The site aims to provide a more streamlined way of navigating the variety of resources within GSAS and across the university that are available to Graduate School students, in the broad areas of financial support, academic resources, and student support. The new site has been built particularly to highlight recent initiatives focused on supporting students’ academic and professional development as they plan for their personal development and career trajectories.
Graduate student unionization negotiations continue
The university has made positive progress in negotiations with Local 33, the graduate student union, since negotiations began in April 2023. Discussions have been productive, focusing on a crucial set of policy and economic matters. The parties have successfully narrowed down the key points, demonstrating a deep commitment to resolving the issues at hand. The negotiation team has been diligently working towards reaching a mutually beneficial agreement in a timely manner. In December, a tentative agreement between the university and Local 33 was signed and put to a vote for ratification by the graduate workers. The vote occurred after this issue went to press.
