Yale Rep stages work by British playwright

Yale Repertory Theatre is presenting a new production of Escaped Alone by acclaimed British playwright Caryl Churchill, March 8–30. Staged by resident director Liz Diamond (who is also chair of the directing program at David Geffen School of Drama), the show features scenic design by Lia Tubiana ’24MFA, costume design by Yu-Jung Shen  沈毓融  ’24MFA, lighting design by Stephen Strawbridge ’83MFA (faculty), sound design by Sinan Refik Zafar ’16MFA, projection design by Shawn Lovell-Boyle ’15MFA (faculty), music direction by Liam Bellman-Sharpe ’20MFA, production dramaturgy by Catherine Sheehy ’92, ’99DFA (faculty) and Karoline Vielemeyer ’25MFA, technical direction by Keira Jacobs ’25MFA, vocal and dialect coaching by Julie Foh (faculty), casting by Calleri Jensen Davis, and stage management by Charlie Lovejoy ’24MFA. 

The cast includes LaTonya Borsay, previously seen at Yale Rep in dance of the holy ghosts and Death of a Salesman; Mary Lou Rosato (faculty), who appeared in Elizabeth: Almost by Chance a Woman and The Alchemist at Yale Rep; Sandra Shipley, whose Yale Rep credits include You Never Can TellThe Way of the WorldThe Adventures of Amy Bock, and Venus; and Rita Wolf, making her Yale debut. All four actors are Beinecke Fellows at David Geffen School of Drama at Yale this spring.
