If there were a prize at commencement for best entrance, the Divinity School would win hands down. Every year, the school’s faculty and graduates march down Prospect Hill and file into Cross Campus accompanied by local percussionist Michael Mills (right) and his group Drums No Guns. The drumming circle continues as graduates of other schools assemble. The tradition started in 2005, when then–associate professor Patrick Evans invited the group to participate in the commencement morning communion service and then to join the procession. “For the first time, it was cool to be a Divvie,” says Evans.
