Mystery Monday: strings attachedThis stone carving predates the ascendancy of a bluegrass-playing Yale president last year. Anybody know where on campus you can find it? We’ll update this post with the answer tomorrow. UPDATE: The banjo can be found on the north half of Berkeley College facing Cross Campus. Berkeley's ornament includes a lot of tributes to Yale extracurriculars—this is apparently a nod to the banjo and mandolin clubs that were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. ___________________________________________ The Yale Alumni Magazine is published by Yale Alumni Publications Inc., an alumni-based nonprofit that is not run by Yale University.
