Yale announced yesterday that it had begun the search for a new Handsome Dan to succeed Sherman, who died over the summer at the age of nine. But in the meantime, the campus’s unofficial First Canine is surely Sasha Pup, a samoyed who lives in Timothy Dwight College with a pair of humans who serve as resident fellows. She has her own Facebook account and garners “likes” by the hundreds on pages such as Overheard at Yale. Unusually generous with paparazzi, Sasha Pup kindly posed for us in the TD courtyard recently.
