L. L. Bean’s bootmobile stomped into the Broadway retail district yesterday. The size-747 duck boot was on hand for the announcement that the company will open a store here in the summer of 2018. The Maine-based retailer of outdoor gear will build a 9,000-square-foot, two-level store in the base of a new building at 272 Elm Street, on the site of a former parking lot next to Tyco. The building will also include apartments for graduate students.
