Hidden figure

It’s easy to miss this stone carving behind the foliage on the York Street face of Saybrook College near Elm Street. There is an entire book about the Memorial Quadrangle (the buildings that now constitute Saybrook and Branford Colleges), with lots of detail about the ornament and inscriptions, but this figure is not mentioned. Because of the architectural attributes, our best guess is that it represents James Gamble Rogers, architect of the quadrangle. Anyone have a better guess?

[UPDATE: a follower on Instagram suggested, correctly, we think, that this is actually Edward C. Harkness, whose mother donated the money for the Memorial Quadrangle. The younger Harkness was intimately involved in the project.]
