Downtown New Haven’s newest hotel is named for a Yale pioneer. The Blake Hotel, near the campus at High and George Streets, honors Law School alum Alice Rufie Jordan Blake, 1886LLB, the first woman to earn a Yale degree. The name of the new hotel’s restaurant, Hamilton Park, also harks back to Yale and New Haven history: Hamilton Park in Westville was Yale’s first football field.
