Throwback Thursday: flying Elis

A hundred years ago this week, we were celebrating Yale’s win in the first annual Intercollegiate Flying Meet in Mineola, New York. “Contrary to pessimistic expectations,” crowed student reporter Henry Luce ’20 (wonder what ever happened to him?), “there was not a single serious accident.” Read more about the meet in this Old Yale column from Judith Ann Schiff.
