Grace Hopper College courtyard. This carving is in the northwest corner, above the archway that leads from the courtyard to lower Cross Campus.
> The Mystery Monday photo of September 26, 2022 shows a doorway honoring Donald Grant Mitchell located in the north facade of the Great Courtyard of Branford College. The door leads into Saybrook College, to a staircase that leads to the Faculty Lounge. <> Donald Grant Mitchell (1822 – 1908), Yale Class of 1841, was essayist and novelist better known by his pen name Ik Marvel. He was instrumental in the planning of New Haven's parks. I believe he donated at least part of his 360 acre estate in Westville to become the nucleus of Edgewood Park.
Both correct!
