Twenty-four little hours

Now showing at the Art Gallery: The Dance of Life: Figure and Imagination in American Art, 1876–1917. The exhibition focuses on the human form in sketches and studies for major public art commissions during the period known as the American Renaissance. Shown here: a half-scale study for The Hours (1909–11), a mural by Edwin Austin Abbey for the ceiling of the House chamber in the Pennsylvania State Capitol.
