After he read our cover story about the building of the Skull and Bones tomb, Carl Wohlenberg ’50 wrote in to remind us of a largely forgotten Yale tomb: that of Phi Gamma Delta, a Sheffield Scientific School fraternity. Their remarkable Egyptian Revival building at 416 Temple Street was built in 1900, then later sold to the university and demolished in 1927. (Helen Hadley Hall now stands on the site.) _____________________________________________ The Yale Alumni Magazine is published by Yale Alumni Publications Inc., an alumni-based nonprofit that is not run by Yale University.
