An exhibition of ancient glass from Yale’s collections opens today at the Art Gallery, and we got a tour from organizer Sara Cole ’15PhD. With 130 pieces on display from Egyptian times to the late Roman Empire, Drink That You May Live: Ancient Glass from the Yale University Art Gallery demonstrates the technical and artistic evolution of glass. But considering the medium—and human clumsiness—we couldn’t stop looking at pieces like this 5th-6th–century bottle, excavated at Gerasa, Jordan, and thinking “How did somebody never drop you?” The exhibition runs through November 12.
