War's end

Saturday is VJ Day, the 75th anniversary of the Japanese surrender that ended World War II. As the wartime version of the Yale Daily News reported, Yale marked the occasion with a day off from classes, “an assembly devoted to prayer and thanksgiving,” and celebrations on the Green and the Old Campus.
