Wall on Rose Walk has a plaque marking the site of Willard Gibbs' home. <> Yale should name the new Yale Science Building [YSB] after Yale's greatest scientist. After all, they tore down the old Gibbs Laboratory to build the YSB. Gibbs managed the endowment for the Sheffield Scientific School for decades, essentially for free, all the while practically founding physical chemistry by himself. --> "One milestone was the publication in 1876 by Josiah Willard Gibbs of his paper, On the Equilibrium of Heterogeneous Substances. This paper introduced several of the cornerstones of physical chemistry, such as Gibbs energy, chemical potentials, and Gibbs' phase rule.[10] "
