Throwback Thursday: Class Day 1947

Seventy-five years ago—as seen here on our July 1947 cover—Yale College was still holding its Class Day ceremonies in the courtyard of Branford College. That custom was abandoned three years later, when the Class of 1950—full of returning veterans—proved too large for the space. Since then, Class Day has been held on Old Campus.
