Throwback Thursday: snows of yesteryear

Back in the winter of 1935, Yale students took advantage of special “snow train” fares to hit the slopes in Vermont. Our undergraduate columnist reported that the Yale Co-op had built “a practice ‘hill’ in the upstairs loft” and had “hired a professional ski instructor, who will teach you all the Alpine tricks while you slide down the shoot made of beaver board smeared with soap flakes.”
