Throwback Thursday: Helen Hadley Hall's debut

In June, Yale filed a notice of intent to demolish Helen Hadley Hall, the 65-year-old Temple Street dormitory originally built to house women graduate students. Our February 1959 issue featured photos of the building. We reported that “restrictions are held to a minimum. Male guests must be out of the building by 1 A.M.; on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays they are permitted upstairs visiting privileges from noon until midnight.”
