Mystery Monday: timeless design

This classic wall clock is on display in the Yale University Art Gallery. It was created in 1947 by an industrial designer who found his calling in the 1920s when, as a Yale student, he ducked into the architecture school to get out of the rain and liked what he saw. He went on to help revolutionize the design field with his work for the furniture company Herman Miller. Can you name this midcentury modernist?
