Throwback Thursday: alumni support

Being familiar with the expression "belt-and-suspenders type" for someone who likes to be prepared for all contingencies, we had to smile when we saw this ad from our July 1900 issue. It turns out that this invention did not make H. J. Bloomer ’03 a rich man, but as you might expect, he had a backup plan: He transferred from Yale College to the Law School after his freshman year and had a successful legal career. And there is no record that his pants ever came down unintentionally.
