Forty-five years ago, our Summer issue recounted a standout 1981 season for Yale baseball, led by the pitching of future Mets star Ron Darling ’82 (pictured). “This is the first year [Darling] has been eligible for the draft,” we reported, “and the scouts were abundant at Yale games all spring. With Darling on the mound, 33 scouts showed up for a game with Brown.”  |
