What’s this stone carving on the side of Benjamin Franklin College all about? The fact that it faces the Farmington Canal Greenway is a clue: what’s being depicted is one of the wooden locks on the nineteenth-century canal that once ran on the site of the greenway. The Yale & Towne lock on the lock is a bonus visual pun.
