Throwback Thursday: a rowing tradition

The men's heavyweight crew swept the Crimson last Saturday at the 155th edition of the Yale-Harvard Regatta at New London. The 1897 crew, seen here in our pages 125 years ago, was also victorious. At far right is captain Payne Whitney ’97, whose name is strangely familiar.
