Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen ’71PhD was on campus yesterday to celebrate the opening of the Tobin Center for Economic Policy. Yellen, who was a graduate student of the center's namesake, economist James Tobin, recalled her Yale days in a conversation with President Peter Salovey ’86PhD. She also talked about the Biden administration policy she calls “modern supply-side economics,” which she defined as "strategies that will promote growth while mitigating inequality and also addressing environmental damage and harm that can affect the well being of future generations.”
