I saw three ships

There are still a few days left to see the Center for British Art's retrospective on the work of Hew Locke, a Guyanese-British sculptor who has, in the museum's words, “used strategies of appropriation to reveal and upend the visual codes of imperialism.” The exhibition, which runs through this Sunday, includes these boats—one of Locke's favored motifs—installed in the center's entrance hall.
