Throwback Thursday: remembering Rosey

Thirty-five years ago, in our Summer 1991 issue, we profiled Herbert "Rosey" Rosenberg, who kept Yale men looking sharp as the longtime proprietor of Rosey's Tailors and Cleaners on Wall Street. Rosey (seen here with his sister Georgie, top right, and seamstress Maria Carbone) described Yale's sartorial glory days for writer Randall Beach: "I used to have young men with thirty suits, and sports jackets, too. . . . The boys used to change their clothes two and three times a day." Rosey died in 2001 at age 88. Alums, tell us what you remember about Rosey.  |
