Mystery Monday: sweeping statement

Don’t bristle if you can’t get this one, even though it may be the last straw: where on campus can you find this carving?

Possibly a small broom closet just outside the main reading room in Sterling?

Stewart Landefeld, you are correct! There's another shield above the same door with a bucket and mop.

<> Sterling Memorial Library 1930 James Gamble Rogers. SML. High St. 120. <> Janitor's closet near entrance to Starr Reference Room. <> Lee Lawrie and Rene Chambellan are usually credited with the sculpture within SML. They must have had an army of stone cutters to help them carve all of the gargoyles and other decorations. I wonder if they also designed and executed the Executioner (so to speak) gargoyle in the Law School courtyard?
