Drill, baby, drill!

Three drilling rigs are at work in the parking lot north of the Peabody Museum, but Yale's not getting into the oil business. The rigs are drilling 260 800-foot boreholes that will serve a large geothermal plant to heat and cool buildings on Science Hill. Fluid pumped into the wells will be cooled in the summer and heated in the winter to control the climate inside the buildings.
