One for the record abookFriday was New Haven's annual Apizza Feast, with more than a dozen of the Elm City's storied pizzerias selling slices on the New Haven Green. But this year was special: Organizers set out to break the Guinness world record for the largest pizza party, set in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2023 with 3,357 participants. Groups of 100 people at a time were herded into one of five fenced enclosures, where they were required to eat at least two slices of pizza under the watchful eye of a roving Guinness official. After three and a half hours, 4,525 people had eaten 10,000 slices, and the record was claimed for New Haven.
